Mula OS vs SOP software: Trainual, SweetProcess, Process Street and Scribe

"We need SOPs" is usually the first thing an owner says when the business starts to feel too dependent on them. It's a good instinct, and there is a whole category of software built for it: Trainual, SweetProcess, Process Street and Scribe are among the best known.

This post compares them with Mula OS, shows what is actually published about their prices, and explains why "which SOP tool?" is often the second question rather than the first.

The tools in one line each

What they cost

Tool Published price (US$) Notes
Trainual Not published; "varies depending on the size of your team" Pricing page shows a US$1,000 implementation fee, with implementation support on all plans. Demo only, no trial listed
SweetProcess US$99/month for up to 10 users (+US$5 per extra user), or US$990/year; Small Team plan US$495/year for up to 5 users All features on every plan. 14-day trial, no card. Billed per user in the account (per SweetProcess's billing page)
Process Street Not published; "Contact sales" on every plan Startup plan capped at 5 users. 14-day trial on Pro
Scribe Free Basic plan; Pro Personal US$25/seat/month billed yearly (US$35 monthly) Team and Enterprise plans have seat minimums or custom pricing
Mula OS US$99 one-off for Operate (includes the SOP Library); US$249 for Complete Per business, no per-user fee, 12 months of updates

Prices from each vendor's own pages, checked 19 October 2026. None of the four SOP vendors showed Malaysian ringgit or Singapore dollar pricing.

For a 10-person team, the clearest published comparison is SweetProcess at US$990 a year against Mula OS Operate at US$99 once. Trainual lists a US$1,000 implementation fee; Operate is US$99.

The question SOP software doesn't answer

SOP tools are very good at storing, sharing and training on procedures. What they don't tell you is which procedures a business at your stage needs, and what else has to be true for those procedures to work.

An SOP for "month-end close" is useless if there is no chart of accounts, no reconciliation routine and no one with authority to sign off. An SOP for "approving purchases" assumes someone has decided approval limits. A family business that writes 40 SOPs before it has monthly accounts, delegation of authority and a compliance calendar has documented its informality rather than fixed it.

That is the gap Mula OS is designed to fill. The free assessment tells you which stage you are at; the Roadmap tells you which procedures matter now; and the other workbooks build the systems those procedures depend on.

What Mula OS's SOP Library does

The SOP Library is one of eight workbooks in Mula OS Operate. It does three things:

  1. Maps your processes. A process list across sales, customer service, operations, purchasing, inventory, finance, people, IT and data, and management, 32 common processes, each rated Critical, Important or Routine, showing which ones have an approved SOP and which don't.
  2. Registers every SOP. Owner, version, status (draft, in review, approved, retired), approval date, review cycle and where staff find it. Reviews coming due are flagged, and so are SOPs where staff haven't yet been trained.
  3. Gives you a format and starter drafts. A printable SOP template, plus starter drafts for e-invoicing (issue, cancel and credit notes), month-end close and new customer set-up and credit check, written to be edited to match how you actually work.

The Dashboard shows how much of the business runs on written, approved, current procedures.

Choose Mula OS if:

Using both

Many businesses will end up with both, and that's fine:

  1. Use Mula OS to decide and build. The process map in the SOP Library and the Roadmap tell you which procedures to write, in which order, and the other workbooks build the systems they rely on.
  2. Move approved SOPs into a training tool when headcount justifies it. Keep the SOP Register as the master list of what exists, who owns it and when it's due for review, and link to the SOP's home in SweetProcess, Trainual or Scribe.
